I have a FLIR Infrared Camera.  It has two USB-2 to USB-C cables.  One is ‘armored’ and about three feet long.  The other is not ‘armored’ and about a foot in length.

The unarmored cable doesn’t permit the camera to show itself to my W10 computer.

The armored cable allows the camera to show itself to the W10 computer.

However, when initially plugging in I get the following ERRORS as pictured in the attachments

Maybe the non-armoured cable is a charge / power only cable?

Have you tried a “standard” USB cable?

      cheers, Paul

From their operation – I feature that the White unarmored cable is the ‘power only’ cable as it doesn’t register in any way when it is plugged into both the FLIR and my computer.

The armored cable, when it is plugged into both devices gives the ‘Error’ that the data cannot be read.

The FLIR device does not appear to have a slot for a replaceable mini-SD card or any other means of data storage.  On the device, I can view the images that have been taken – I can’t transfer them to any other devices.

I have seen this behavior with flash drives (one 32GB, one 128GB). I plugged two flash drives into a Win11 Pro system. Here’s what I saw, and I chose “Continue without scanning.” The results were that both showed up in File Explorer. See also screenshot from Disk Management.

USB scanning recommendation usually happen after removing a USB drive without using ‘safely remove…’

Found the error of my ways.

The FLIR device must be TURNED ON when you plug the ‘armored’ data cable into the computer.  The White non-armored cable is for battery charging only.

I had to read the devices Manual thoroughly to find that instruction hidden in plain sight.
