I’ve tried this thread:
Win 10 – How to render File Explorer display always in Detail mode?
Is there any way to setup File Explorer in Win 10 so that its default display always comes up in “Details”? I find the other “displays” very frustrating and useless for my purposes.
You will have to do the following procedure once for each TYPE of folder, e.g. Documents, Pictures, Video, Music, etc.
Select a folder of the desired TYPE.
Set the View to Details.
On the View Ribbon Tab Click Options.
Click Change folder and search options.
Click the View Tab.
Click the Apply to Folders button.
Click Yes in the dialog below.
Repeat for each TYPE of folder.
I must have tried that 100+ times.
Also tried right click on folder, select customize tab, select documents, apply to all folders, OK and after a few minutes it’s done, and all is well – for a while.
Then the folders get set back to whatever Windoze wants to set them to.
How can I make my settings permanent? Or, how can I stop Window$ from changing the settings?
Very Frustrating!
