I have a situation that I hope you can help me resolve … I do a lot of cut and pasting of text in powerpoint. It seems that whenever I cut and paste text from one text box to another text box the font size of the text increases dramatically … even if the font size is exactly the same in both text boxes.

Why does this happen? And is there anything that can be done to stop this maddening situation?

Are these text boxes you created from the Drawing toolbar (or Insert | Text Box), or are they the place holder text boxes present on a new sheet in most sheet layouts?

        Hans,

        Both.

With the placeholder text boxes, the font size of pasted text is determined by the font size set in the slide master, even if you have manually changed the font size of the copied text or of the existing text of the receiving text box. So I’d check the slide master (View | Master | Slide Master) to see what font sizes are set there.

            Hans,

Thanks for this. BTW, on a completely other note….I was tasked yesterday with creating a module that finds a cell and if the cell below it is the same (a duplicate), it should delete the row below it. I didn’t think I could do it, but I created the module and it worked. I am so excited and it’s all because of the great advice and help I’ve received here at the lounge. THANK YOU ALL clapping

To add to Hans’s answer, also check to see if the Auto-Fit text to placeholder option is causing this irritation. Choose Tools | Options and check the Edit Tab for the checkbox.
