Fonts – disabling/removing/hiding

Ihave a Photoshop competitor, Affinity, installed on my computer thattakes 20 seconds to load; most of that time there is a messageindicating that fonts are loading, so I assume that if I had fewerthe program would load quicker. I have checked in Control Panel andfind there are in excess of 250 shown, that could be either deletedor hidden. I have never used more than half a dozen fonts in anyprogram so would not be inconvenienced if I deleted almost all ofthem but am reluctant to do so – would “hiding” the fonts havethe same effect as deleting and would it be these Windows fonts thatare the cause of the slow program load – I also have MS Office andLibre Office installed which have fonts, but those programs are neverused at the same time as Affinity..
