I’m a VB novice; I need to YELL certain things at my distributed spreadsheet users. Is there a way to format the fonts in a standard MsgBox to Bold, or do I have to create a Userform?

      John,
I’d create a userform. The only way I know of to have bold text in a message box is to change your display settings. It may be possible to do that with an API call then reset them after the messagebox has been displayed but that seems a little excessive to me! How about using capitals?

In Access 97 and earlier it was possible to at least bold part of the messagebox text, but that no longer works in Access 2000; so I, too, suggest a userform alternative.

          Charlotte,
Are you referring to the use of the @ sign within the message text? I have found that very handy and use it quite often, even placing @@ at the end of the text to bold the entire thing. Will I lose that when I upgrade to Access 2000?

Yep, sorry about that. The @ signs are returned as literals in Access 2000.

Rory’s right. A UserForm can be customized much more than a standard messagebox. See my post “Here’s a fun one”…You’re busted!!

Many helpful suggestions were given as to how to ‘instruct and educate’ my Excel users.
