Is there a way to automatically set the Pivot Table Options to always Sum a field by default, instead of Count? Also, is there a way to automatically set all Pivot Tables to format numbers with a comma, 2 decimal places? After researching this web site I believe the answer is No to both questions. Thank you.

If you drag a field to the Data area of a pivot table, the default function is Sum for numeric fields, and Count for text fields. There is no way to change this default, as far as I know.

The default format for cells in the data area will be that of the Normal style, so if you set Normal to display numbers with two decimal places and comma as thousands separator, a new Pivot table will use that.
