I am trying to format a text box but for some reason there appears to be a large gap between the first and second row.
Although l would like the text justified to the left still.
    see attachment.

Access considers everything without spaces as a single word. If it finds a hyphen, it will break on that and wrap the rest of the text to the next line.

        Thanks for that.

Along these same lines: I have a “plain” text box, the user enters a “Salutation” like Mr. and Mrs. Smith. My text box changes the input text to “Mr. And Mrs. Smith”, capitalizing the “And”.
          We don’t want this….

That is AutoCorrect at work. To turn it off:
            – Select Tools | AutoCorrect… (Access 2000) or Tools | AutoCorrect Options… (Access 2002)
            – Clear the check box labeled Capitalize first letter of sentence.
            – Click OK.
Please be aware that this will affect *all* Office applications, including Word.
