I have a worksheet with a web query in columns A-I. Several columns from K onwards contain formulas from the web query data. When I hover over some of the cells in the formula columns, the cursor changes to a hand and a pop-up appears that shows reference to the web query data (http://www……..). However, this does not happen with all of the formula’s, only some. On the offending columns, if I delete the formula, leaving the cells blank, and hover over the blank cells, the pop-up still appears.

This is causing considerable file bloat of about 1.5 meg per column of formula. Any idea’s how I can stop this?

I think that this was caused by the copying and pasting of the header cells from the web query accross some of the additional columns, thus also containing links to the query. Formula’s in the cells below seemed to take on the links from above, which were then filled down.

Rebuilding the worksheet from scratch solved the problem.

I suspect the cells in question still contained hyperlinks. You could have solved this with some VBA to remove all hyperlihnks I expect
