Hello, group; my friend Marie has a problem and I can’t help her; I hope somebody in this group can. (Marie says “thank you.”)

She had Kapersky security installed and it told her that it had found a key-logger on her Windows 7 lappy. I did not see the warning personally.

Is there some way she can get a confirmation that there IS such a beast in her machine, or find that it does not exist at all?

She has deleted Kapersky and got MSE instead. The latter has not (yet) mentioned any key-logger.

    Thanks!

Try downloading, updating, and then run MalwareBytes. If Kaspersky gave the name of the key-logger, do a Google search on remove the key-logger name.

Thanks, Jerry. I’ll get her to do that. Be a few days.

When you run Malwarebytes make sure you run it in Safe Mode with networking. It wouldn’t hurt to also run a second and even third program just to be sure. Superantispyware, Spybot and AdAware are all free as well.

Thanks, SpiritWind! I appreciate all the help. She is out of town but we’ll get to it soon I hope.
