• Get TItle text in Db window

Does anyone know how to get the text in the title bar of a Db? I change the titles of my Dbs each time I update them. EG “Contacts ver 10 Mar 09”. Makes it extremely easy to see what version. I think I may need to use that title in an appActiate statement. Currently I have appActivate “Contacts”. This works an all but one computer and gives an invalid procedure call at that point on that computer. Strangely, on another Db on that same computer the statement appActivate “Insurance” works just fine.
I’m guessing that I need to put the full title in the statement, but maybe not. Any ideas?

You can put in a title at Tools..Startup…Application Title
does that do what you want?

but I never do as it causes problems with Mail Merges.
The merge starts a new instance of Access rather than using the currently running one.

I put the verion number in a separate table then display it at the bottom of the Menu with a Lookup.

I avoid the problem that the Application Title causes with mail merges by *never* using DDE. I always use ODBC to connect to the data source. It’s faster too. (But you have to be careful – ODBC doesn’t work with custom functions)
