I’m trying to download winhlp32.exe so I can run the help for some older software. I’m runnin Window 7, 64-bit.

Windows GenuineCheck is needed for this download.

This page, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=91 has a “continue” button which downloads an outdated version of the GenuineCheck applet that does not run. The page also says that the validation will generate a code that must be entered to enable the download of winhlp32.exe

http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ (which I think only runs in Internet Explorer) generates a bar at the bottom of the screen to run a check, and this indicates successful validation but does not generate a message box with a code to enter on the other page.

So, what do I do? I’ve wasted an hour of my life chasing this.
