I use Outlook Express for my personal email and Outlook as my business email. I had to reinstall Outlook. It asked me if I wanted it as my default mail server. I foolishly clicked yes. What it then did was take all of my contacts out of Outlook Express and replace them with my Outlook contacts, which I don’t want.

How do I get my Outlook Express contacts back? I hope they are not gone forever. HELP!!!

Oh, no, it has gone from bad to worse. Since I didn’t want the contacts in Outlook Express, I decided to delete them. This removed them from Outlook as well. I want these back in Outlook. My fear is that I have deleted them permanently. Why are Outlook and Outlook Express not working independently? Help again!!

Solved it!!! Went to the address book of Outlook Express and found the option of not sharing the address book with Outlook. Once I closed everything down and opened them again, everything was back to normal. Whew! I thought I had lost everything. Fortunately, all of the deleted contacts in Outlook were in the deleted items folder and I hadn’t closed Outlook, thereby getting rid of them.

      Life is good, isn’t it!
