AskWoody PlusJanuary 26, 2020 at 10:56 am #2110270Congratulations… & that MVP certificate is Well Deserved. Did M$ send it to you before or after the “official” release in October 2009? I echo Seff’s question: Did you get 1 for Win10 in 2015… & what about Win8 in 2012?!
Bought a refurbished Windows 10 64-bit, currently updated to 22H2. Have broke the AC adapter cord going to the 8.1 machine, but before that, coaxed it into charging. Need to buy new adapter if wish to continue using it.

As to bidding “good night, Sweet Prince” to 7, for me is going to be more like:
“Oh, baby
Don’t matter for how long life goes on
I’ll Still be loving you, girl.
I know it’s real
This love I feel
Baby, sure as the skies are blue
I’ll be around
Won’t let you down
Baby, no one else will do.”
(From “I’ll be loving you”- New Kids on the Block.)And never doubt this: we’ll keep getting together, you, sweet 7 and I, to get something done you, and only you, still have what it takes to let me do it. But NO BROWSING or EMAILING, do you hear me?!

GuestJanuary 26, 2020 at 6:23 pm #2110407Woody, thanks for your excellent care and service that you have provided us Windows 7 owners. You’ve stuck with us, time and time again, over all the good and bad. And since we seem to be in the mood to ‘sing’ your praises, I think this Tina Turner hit says it all to both you and our dearest Windows 7:
“You’re simply the best, better than all the rest
Better than anyone, anyone I ever met
I’m stuck on your heart, I hang on every word you say
Tear us apart, baby, I would rather be dead.
Oh you’re the best.”(Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, x64 Group B)

GuestJanuary 26, 2020 at 6:27 pm #2110410I am sorry but I won’t be saying goodnight to Windows 7 yet. The young prince still has much to do and very adequately indeed.
Pound for pound the best OS ever despite Microsoft dropping the ball constantly. I haven’t been patching for 18 months so it’s business as usual.
Everything is locked down and I will firewall out the false flags and noise that are sure to come.
