Looking for something where I can lock the PC from unwanted viewers. This would be Windows, programs and files. Using a Windows password looks to be too easy to circumvent as you can create a boot disk where you can reset any passwords. I just finished trying Winguard Pro 2.0 free edition and that was way too easy to get around.

      ldb,

If you are using Win 7 or 8 Pro you can use Bit Locker to encrypt the entire drive. You could also use TrueCrypt to encrypt only your data. HTH

      Or Truecrypt.

Either way make sure you have a good non-encrypted backup and recovery keys for the encryption stored away from the computer.

      cheers, Paul
