• Google Chrome as my alternate browser

On my laptop I use Edge as my default browser.

I will be installing Google Chrome as my alternate browser.
    — Where I volunteer, there are many users who come in using Google Chrome as their default browser.
    — I’ve been able to help most of them but I have to figure what to do and I’d like to know what to do at least most of the time.

I have this tutorial to help me through whatever Google Chrome consists of.
Chrome – Getting started with Google Chrome
    https://edu.gcfglobal.org/en/chrome/getting-started-with-google-chrome/1/

I’m interested in learning a few basics up front.
    — I know I’ll be able to figure out things as time goes on but I hope to get off to the right start.

I use Windows Defender for my Win10 security: do I need to add a Google Chrome security package?
    — I also use uBlock Origin in Win10, is it a good idea to do the same in Google Chrome?

What’s the best way to ensure Windows Updates are being kept up-to-date for both Google Chrome & Windows?

Then there is maintenance: I use Storage Sense once a month during the week before Patch Tuesday to help keep my Win10 clean
    — Is there a similar item in Google Chrome?

In Win10 I have Cookies and saved website data in Privacy & security unchecked
    — How do I do that in Google Chrome also?

On my email accounts, I have an outlook account for my Microsoft account, 2 yahoo accounts and a gmail account.
    — Will I be able to access my yahoo accounts in Google Chrome w/o having to go back & forth between Edge soon to become Chromium Edge and Google Chrome?

    Other recommendations will be appreciated.

Chrome will update by itself eventually but I use the 3 dots in the upper right corner and click on help> About Google chrome, which will immediately check for chrome updates.

I’m not familiar with Storage Sense but I use CCleaner to get rid of all the saved stuff from chrome.

In Win10 I have Cookies and saved website data in Privacy & security unchecked

CCleaner, and Before I sign out of chrome, I use those 3 dots again and choose history>clean history.

I also use CCleaner especially because I whitelist the cookies for the websites I use and allow “general websites to be deleted.

Thanks for your inputs. I remember my roots when I had to learn computers w/o even some basic training and that’s how I train the people I help: provide at least the basics and then move on from there.

I use a few extensions for chrome that has served me well, especially the cookie AutoDelete which cleans even the Google cookies upon closing a tab. Here are the ones I use if you are interested.
