First of all, my computer skills are only average at very best. My problem is this. My version of windows don’t have ( gpedit.msc ), I would like to get it, without gpedit.msc theres a lot you cant do. I researched Google and You Tube with some solution,s I guess. Maybe thay work, but for me the non computer geek, thay don’t. Thanks, Chuck

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody_MVPNovember 9, 2014 at 9:17 am #1474578Which version of Windows 8, 8.0 or 8.1? What is it you wish to do that requires Group Policy Editor?
All the information I found shows is only available in Windows 8.0 and 8.1 Pro and Enterprise editions. Most consumers will not be using those versions.A link in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731745.aspx shows a possible work-around at http://tipsandtricksforum.com/thread-239.html

AskWoody LoungerNovember 9, 2014 at 10:46 am #1474583My computer skills are average. Its my understanding, and no doubt I could be very wrong. I was wanting to uninstall all One Drive, I never use this at all, I did disable it that’s easy to do. My understanding Microsoft has One Drive embedded so far, you have to go through group policy editor or regedit. Thanks, Chuck

AskWoody_MVPNovember 9, 2014 at 11:06 am #1474608From Microsoft:
How do I uninstall the OneDrive app?
If you uninstall the OneDrive desktop app from your PC, your OneDrive folder will stop syncing. The OneDrive folder and your files in OneDrive won’t be deleted.
Click the Start button. In the search box, type Programs, and then, in the list of results, click Programs and Features.
Click Microsoft OneDrive, and then click Uninstall. If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I would imagine once the program is gone it would not be hard to delete the Folder mentioned. Before you wonder "Am I doing things right," ask "Am I doing the right things?" -

AskWoody LoungerNovember 9, 2014 at 12:56 pm #1474615I went to programs and features like Windows say uninstall One Drive. That I knew was wrong Windows wont do things the easy way. I went there to see, Windows says click Microsoft One Drive then click uninstall. No way it,s not that easy. My understanding you go in gpedit.msc or regedit to uninstall. With my computer skills being average. I don’t know how to. Thanks, Chuck

AskWoody LoungerNovember 9, 2014 at 1:38 pm #1474617I finally uninstalled One Drive.
(1) regedit/enter
(2) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE expanded and clicked ( software )
(3) expanded software and clicked ( policies )
(4) expanded policies and clicked ( Microsoft ) right below policies
(5) expanded Microsoft and clicked ( Windows )
(6) look for folder called ( Skydrive that’s now called One Drive )
(7) I deleted Skydrive folder, One Drive is gone.
(8) NEVER DELETE ANYTHING ELSE IN REGEDIT
Thanks, Chuck -
