    Hello,

You have all been so helpful I am sure this too is a no brainer. How can I sort my report by the name that appears in the Grouping level. For instance, I have my report grouped by department and then sorted by name, title etc. I want the report to sort by department, which is the only grouping level. How can I do this? It appears to be using the primary key to sort ascending but there must be a way to sort by department name? Hope this makes sense

    K

Is the Department Name in the Group Header? If so, in the Report design view, on the ToolBar, click on the Sorting and Grouping icon and Enter the Department Name in the first row of the Field/Expression column. The Sort Order is the second column. Click OK and the sort order will take effect.
