Has anyone opted to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch after upgrading? I Upgraded my PC from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro and my PC seems to be plagued with some issues. I’ve been trying to fix these issues but I’m beginning to wonder if it’s time to cut my losses and reinstall Windows 10. If you’ve reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch can you give me a brief run down of what to expect? I’m particularly interested in what I have to do with any license key, etc that may be needed during the install process and if there’s anything that I will need besides copies of my apps and have my data backed up. Another question…. Did you reinstall Windows 10 over the top of Windows 10 so you didn’t loose your data or did you format the C: drive and start over that way?

Apparently nothing at all. MS has tied W10 to your machine during the initial upgrade.

Don’t forget about your updated drivers or else MS will do it for you.
Normally that’s not so bad for most people.

If you’ve had issues with the upgrade it’s best to select “remove everything” clean install option…

Thanks for the reply. I had issues with upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and after the upgrade, things didn’t get any better with Windows 10 afterward. As a result of too many issues, I did a reset from within Windows 10. This action deleted everything on my HD and reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 10. After reinstalling my apps and restoring my data files, my system appears to be running correctly and I hope it stays that way.

After using W10 for a month I also used the reset option. I have to say it worked great. it sure beats downloading the media and burning it to a DVD.
After reinstalling the back up I made my 5 year old desktop hasn’t worked this good since I first bought it.

Yes, I’m pretty happy with the results but I wish that Windows Secrets would have come out with Fred Langa’s article on reinstalling Windows 10 ahead of time.
