I am frustrated by an inability to change the numbering scheme for the Heading styles. I have looked at other posts, and must be doing something wrong.

At present, the styles provide the following:

Heading 1 1.
Heading 2 1.1
Heading 3 (i)

I want to change it to

Heading 1 1.
Heading 2 1.1
Heading 3 1.1.1
Heading 4 1.1.1.1

I cannot determine how to change the styles so that they will have the correct numbering scheme.

In the Home tab of the Ribbon, in the Paragraph group, click the MultiLevel List dropdown arrow.
In the MultiLevel List pane, select the option that looks like

1 Heading 1
1.1 Heading 2
1.1.1 Heading 3
