If I press F1 while the cursor is in the Horizontal Anchor property (in the properties box) of a TEXT BOX, this is what I get. 18 References to Horizontal Anchor, but no clue as to which of them relate to Text Boxes!

Furthermore, and this is really annoying, Help is displayed in the same window that previously displayed the propeties box, so you can’t read Help and look at the properties box.

When you display the field list for the current form, this list also displaces the properties box from its window!

I am not seeing the same thing as you. When I press F1 the help window is separate from the main Access window. Try opening the help window and then click and drag on the title bar portion of the help window to see if you can dislodge it from the main Access window. This may be related to dislodging the Help window but under each of the headings of “HorizontalAnchor Property” I see a brief description of the help topic. One of them is “Access Object Model Reference > TabControl Object > Properties”

From your post I get the feeling that you are not enjoying the new interface that much. Please give it some time. We are all going to have to learn it at some point if we want to contue to program in Access. Good luck and keep trying.

I have worked this out. The Properties Box can be Docked or Floating.

If the properties box is docked, Help opens in a different Window (as you experienced it).

If the Properties Box is already Floating, then Help opens in the same window (as I experienced it).

You are right that I am not enjoying the new interface. I agree that I have to learn it. I have clients who already use it, so I don’t have much choice.

The property sheet in Access 2007 is more closely akin to the .Net UI design environment that it is to previous versions of Access, John. Help is, again, quite different from prior versions of Office. It does take some getting used to, I know. The docking is under your control, believe it or not.
