AskWoody LoungerMarch 20, 2012 at 7:08 pm #1325800Isn’t it strange, that almost every service call I get, concerning a printer is about an HP?
And, usually it’s not the hardware, but the software. As an old programmer myself, I can say,
“It’s Horrible!”. It must have been written in one of those countries that hate us. :rolleyes:I have several customers who have to keep their HP Install disk handy, because they never know the day or hour when they may have to put it in the drive and reinstall the drivers, etc.
I never have any such problems with Epson printers. I currently have two of them connected to this PC and I never have a moments problem with either. (I actually own five Epson printers)
In fact, my two Epson printers were installed by Win-8, (automatically) without me having to dig out my install disks.
All I did was turn the printer on, and Win-8 set up a compatible driver for it.In the early days of PC compatible printers, there were just two protocols for printers, , , IBM and Epson.
If the IBM driver wouldn’t work, the Epson driver would. So my one word solution to HP printer problems, is simply “Epson”.
Cheers Mates!
