I am running Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer 6. I also have SeaMonkey installed.

The HTML help text in MacroMedia (now Adobe) DreamWeaver MX 2004 appears by default in a text size too small to read easily.

I haven’t found any setting in Dreamweaver to change this but if I open Internet Explorer and change Text Size in the View menu from small to medium, the text size also changes in the Dreamweaver help.

But then if I hibernate the computer, the text in Dreamweaver and the setting in Internet Explorer change back and I have to do it again.

Can anyone help me with this, please?

It seems odd to me both that the settings don’t stick, and that I have to open one application to change display properties in another.

What happens if you hold down CTRL and scroll your mouse wheel? This generally changes the text size in IE.

Yes, that works (actually I am using a laptop computer with a Synaptics touchpad, so I run my finger up and down the strip at the right). But I should be able to make the setting stick through hibernation somehow, shouldn’t I?

          Tools > Internet Options > Accessibility…

Do you have any options selected there? I suspect “Ignore font sizes specified…” may have something to do with it…

      Hi John

The help files in Dreamweaver use CHM files (Compiled HTML Help Files) which compiles a set of HTML files so that you can view specific help topics. On most PC’s Internet Explorer is the default viewer for HTML files. As Leif suggests, by holding the Ctrl key and rolling your mouse roller you can adjust you text size in IE and should be able to do it in you Dreamweaver Help Files.

However, if you are like me and use a laptop and don’t have a mouse and IE is your default browser , open IE and then go to View | Text Size | Largest and reopen the DW help file
