    Hi Guy’s,
Getting more than a little desperate here. Got myself a speedy wee system & installed Win XP Pro SP3 with all the current updates on it. 1.75 Gb Ram with a 40gb hard drive & a 250 back up Slave drive.
I’ve checked using Aida & need links for drivers for the following, as I cannot seem to locate them, at least, not the correct ones.
Aida identifies the missing drivers as:
    Intel 82801 EB/ER AC’97 Audio Controller, &
    Intel Springdale-G i865G Motherboard Chipset.
The side cover with info. about model number, etc, is missing so I can’t help there.

I’ve been both to Hp & Intel, but no luck…
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks,
    Mike

      Mike,
Hello, I have a (free whatever) program that might be of some use to you… It’s called “SIW” (system information for windows) it will tell you every thing about your system it can be downloaded at http://www.gtopala.com/ This will help you collect more of the “puzzle pieces” Regards Fred

If it’s an HP the drivers will be on their site. Sometimes the search can be tricky.

      cheers, Paul

Either ID your motherboard by using SIW & search for drivers based on it, or use the HP site’s Autodetect function.
Look in the “hardware” section of SIW under motherboard; Note Make and Model.
I’ve tried the latest version of Aida and it didn’t give me any info on my motherboard.

      Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the responses; appreciated alot.
I’ve had a fairly reasonable look around the HP site, but no luck. I also tried the Autodetect but somehow my ActiveX settings prevent this from being used; (at least that’s the message that came up when I tried using it). So no hope there either.
As I am also missing the side cover that most likely has the model number & other info on it, all I can do until I’ve used the SIW program, is to post the motherboard info. I could locate. It is as follows:

      Numbers off the motherboard:
      SP#351067-001
      PA28C0FS5S7AD
      AS#350286-005
      Product of China
      21811573806522 VER: E01

And nearby those numbers, is an IC with the following printed on it:
      FW82801EB
      L533NA62
      SL37Z
      INTEL M C ’02 (The M & C have a circle around each of them).

BTW, the Intel Chip Identification Utility scan only comes back with “Failed to Identify your Chipset”.
      Here’s the info off SIW:
      Property Value
      Manufacturer Lite-On Tech.
      Model 08FCh
      Version E01
      Serial Number 1111TEST1111

North Bridge Intel i865P/PE/G/i848P Revision A2
      South Bridge Intel 82801EB (ICH5) Revision A2

      CPU Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.66GHz
      Cpu Socket Socket 478 mPGA

System Slots 3 PCI, 1 AGP

      Memory Summary
      Maximum Capacity 4096 MBytes
Maximum Memory Module Size 1024 MBytes
      Memory Slots 4
      Error Correction None

Warning! Accuracy of DMI data cannot be guaranteed

& the info about the system name is:

      Property Value
      OWNER-45C82F903 (Hewlett-Packard HP dx2000 MT(PG984AV))
      Multimedia Audio Controller
      Name Multimedia Audio Controller
      Manufacturer Realtek
      Device ID PCIVEN_8086&DEV_24D5&SUBSYS_218114A4&REV_023&267A616A&0&FD
      PnP Device Id PCIVEN_8086&DEV_24D5&SUBSYS_218114A4&REV_023&267A616A&0&FD
      Error message ERR28

Now, what can youn take from all this to help me please…?
      Mike

      A call to HP support.

Try these, look at the photos of these…

      SP#351067-001

      HP Compaq dx2000 Microtower PC
      HP Compaq dx2000 Slim Tower
HP Compaq d240 Microtower Desktop PC

Check your ActiveX settings and redo the Autodetect.

Add the HP site to your Trusted Sites and the ActvieX should load – double click on “Internet” in the bottom right corner when the HP site is loaded, then click on Trusted Sites and add the HP site. You may need to turn off the requirement to use https.

      cheers, Paul
