Hijack.Display Properties

I just installed and ran Malwarebytes antimalware on my new Windows 7 Premium 64 bit laptop. It did a quick scan and came up with Hijack.DisplayProperties as a malware. This is a Registry Data item which is as follows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftwindows
currentVersionPoliciesExplorerNoActiveDesktopChanges

Is this really malware? Should I remove it?

Hi trebor,

First, I would place anything flagged as questionable in a malware scan in quarantine. Quarantine is good, because sometime you have to make a judgment call with little information, and false positives can move you to delete something that should not be deleted. I use Mawarebytes to scan my Windows installs also, and have seen this file detected as malware in Vista Home Premium 32 bit as well as Windows 7 64 bit HP. According to everything I have seen on the matter, it is safe to put it on the ‘ignore’ list.
