Word has the ability to compare the current document with another file and highlight differences? Does Excel have a similar capability?

I needed to compare two versions of a spreadsheet. What I ended up doing was to create a second tab in one of the files, copy the other spreadsheet into the second tab, then create a third tab and use the EXACT() function to find differences between cells in the first and second tabs. It worked, but was rather tedious. Is there an easier way?

You can try the compare.xla add-in available on Chip Pearson’s site.
It compares 2 worksheets and produces a list of differences in a new file.
