How can I get Win10 ( to play with)?

Hi I have an extra, decent desktop that I’m not using at all. It’s loaded with Win 7, 4GB of mem and several decent hard drives. If needed, I will install a current motherboard, processor, mem etc. I built this one before Win 8 so it has the pre-Win 8 BIOS.

I’d love to load it with Win 10 and then be somewhat ready to use it for my prime computer once Win 10 was ready. (I’m not trying to beat Microsoft out of buying it once available.)

I was about to load LINUX and decided I’d see how to get Win 10 instead.

Couple of ways to do it. you could upgrade your existing Windows 7 installation or download the latest ISO and do a clean install.

Should run Win10 happily.

The PC I am using for Win10TP is about six year old. Quad-core AMD CPU @ 2.8GHz, Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 motherboard, 4GB DDR2 RAM. When I installed Win10TB x64 build 10074 setup installed all the drivers; I didn’t have to do any of the usual messing about with drivers.

The same PC runs XP and Win7 (x86) from a separate HDD (dual-boot setup), which I disconnect when running Win10. Win10 is noticeably faster to start up and is more responsive than XP or Win7 on the same PC.
