    How Do I Automate Word to Create Label and Print?

    I am using MS Access to remotely open a word document, paste an address, then print a label; I got the first two parts, but I don’t know how to make Word print a label; I was thinking maybe I could use the DoMenuItem but I don’t know how to use this remotely on Word;

    Roughly what do I have to do? I just want to activate the envelope and labels wizard; being able to auto-print from there would be nice but not required; what’s the how-to?

    Thank you!

      DoMenuItem is strictly an Access method and it’s obsolete in Access, at that.

      You need to use automation to directly manipulate the Word objects. I’ve always found it easiest to record a macro in Word and then convert that to automation code from another application, but you can also download whitepapers and samples of Office automation for both 97 and 2000 versions from http://download.microsoft.com/download/off…US/OFFAUTMN.EXE

        Thanks Charlotte!

        The macro idea sounds intersting- might save time. I will look into.
