How do I force RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR?

I have a great HP ScanJet 5400c which is not officially supported under Win7 (32 bit or 64 bit). But, nosing around on the net & trying various options, I find that I can use it — but only if I choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR for the HP Precision Scan Pro software which then fires up the scanner. It would be very helpful if I could make the shortcut for HP Precision Scan Pro.exe prompt me for the elevated permission, to use UAC-speak.
Does anyone have a means of getting Photoshop CS5 or Elements 8 to directly address the scanner itself rather than having to go through HP Precision Scan Pro?

Try this method from How To Geek. It allows Run As Administrator to be added to the Right Click menu.

right click on shortcut and choose properties. Choose the advanced button lower right. Check the Run as Administrator box
