I currently use LastPass and am considering swapping over to Bitwarden. I do not have Office or Microsoft 365. Is there a way to export my passwords without needing any Office software?

On another topic. Can I store Passkeys into Bitwarden Password manager? I have 3 devices 1) Desktop {Windows 11 Pro version 23H2} 2) Laptop {Windows 11 Pro version 24H2} and 3) Samsung S24+ smartphone that I wish to use any passkeys with.

Try the following link from LastPass’ site:

      https://support.lastpass.com/s/document-item?language=en_US&sfdcIFrameOrigin=null&bundleId=lastpass&topicId=LastPass/export-web-vault.html&_LANG=enus

When you first arrive on the page, click on the “>How to export” item to expand those instructions. This option opens the entire contents of your vault (passwords and anything else you’ve stored in your vault over time) in a new webpage and on that page you can then copy/paste the contents into a text editor such as WordPad or Notepad which come included with Windows, or at least Windows 10. From the very bottom of the instructions:

Results: You have successfully exported your LastPass vault data, and it is displayed in a new web browser page. You can copy the contents of the page and paste it into a text editor to save it as a file. If pop-ups from LastPass are not blocked, a CSV file containing your vault data will also be downloaded.

BTW, a CSV file is a “comma separated values” file format and can be read by most any spreadsheet program out there, but is also used by Bit Warden to import passwords and other data from other password managers!

Here’s a link to a page on Bit Warden’s site that talks about how to import passwords from LastPass into Bitwarden:

      https://bitwarden.com/help/import-from-lastpass/

      I hope this helps!

A CSV file is plain text and can be read by any text editor.

Yes. See Managing passkeys in Bitwarden

I also have a LastPass Authenticating App on my Samsung Galaxy S24+ phone. If I go with the Premium Bitwarden account setup. Can I migrate the accounts from the LastPass Authenticator to Bitwarden’s version?

Authenticator seems to do TOTP and more. You can export the TOTP stuff, but I’ve no idea what else you’ve set.

      cheers, Paul

I just have my Yahoo email, LastPass, Amazon and Login.gov access codes only in it. I don’t know what else the authenticator can be used for to be honest.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
