I would like to save a file listing of a directory which includes “content created” and “Date Last Saved”. Can I do this in Windows 7 Explorer or do I need an add-in or another program.
    Thanks

See Directory Printer for a highly functional, free-for-home-use program.

Love the program, been using it for years. However, it does not include “Contents Created” or “Date Last Saved” as File Info descriptor.

Its already in Karen’s tool, just with “older” names. “Content Created” or “Date Last Saved” puzzle me. I’m not sure why MS adds those as column headers. “Content Created” = “Date Created”, and “Date Last Saved” = “Date Modified”. Try a fun little science experiment. Create a text file in a test folder and add all 4 of these to the column headers. Wait a few minutes and make a change to the file and save it. Do it again a few minutes later. You’ll see the dates & times for “Content Created” & “Date Created” stay the same, and the columns for “Date Last Saved” & “Date Modified” change in tandem.

my files have been written to cd, therefore for a typical *.xls file I get in Windows Explorer:

        Date Modified = 1/25/2011 5:45 PM
        Date Last Saved = 8/7/2009 3:07 PM

        Date Created = 1/25/2011 5:45 PM
        Content Created = 8/7/2009 12:32 PM

          My understanding is ….
When a file is copied to another folder, the Date Created (date & time) changes to the date & time it was copied to the new folder, but the Content Created (date & time) stays the same.

In Post #5 above, it looks like the files were copied to CD on 1/25/2011 5:45 PM
