Just upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11-23H2 and now the second monitor has become the main Windows screen. What was the primary screen has a VGA cable attachment the secondary screen has the Display-Port cable connection.

You didn’t give much info about it. But, guessing from what you provided (I run two ViewSonic monitors on 11) ~ I use the Windows Display settings to configure what you’re wanting. And I also use the iRotate app because both of my monitors can pivot. iRotate has Tray icons showing both monitors.

They are just standard monitor 16:9 screens 1 x Philips and 1 x nameless brand.

When I designate one of the two as the Primary screen it changes back to the other way round  when the system is restarted or rebooted i.e. I choose ‘2’ a primary / main screen and it changes back to ‘1’.
        Why might that be?

I just go into display settings, (right mouse click on a blank desktop, then click display settings) and from there I choose which monitor will be primary.

I would then try to swap the cables if you can?
