Someone sent me an email with a .exe attachment, and Outlook 2003 has blocked access to this.
I want to file the email, but I would like to delete the 3MByte attachment first, just to avoid wasting disk space. What’s the easiest way to do this?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

See if Opening Attachments Blocked by the Microsoft Outlook E-mail Security Update helps.

See if Opening Attachments Blocked by the Microsoft Outlook E-mail Security Update helps.
Thanks, that did the trick. I added the relevant registry key, restarted Outlook, deleted the .exe attachments, and then deleted the registry key again.
I think you’ll have to unblock .exe attachments (temporarily if you wish). See Unblock blocked attachments in Microsoft Outlook.
for several months now I have not been able to open attachments of any kind . The computer just sends me the information that it has been blocked. This is very frustrating and it occurs on all kinds of emails etc.. I’m not very computer literate and have tried to remedy the problem myself that has just created more frustration. Can someone please help me get rid of this block? Thanks for your help
