Would someone refresh my memory on how to extract a single folder/file from a Macrium Reflect 7 Free “full” hard disk backup? Backup is one file backing up the entire drive containing 4 partitions.

You mount the Image file by double-clicking it and it should use Reflect to do the job. Reflect will ask you to select the Partition you wish to mount, for most people that will be C:, it will then assign it to a free drive letter.
Once you get this far just use file explorer to navigate the new drive letter to the parent folder of the folder you want to retrieve. Then you can drag and drop it where you want to save it to.
I find the easiest way to do this is to open two instances of File Explorer by opening one and holding your SHIFT key open another and then size them to fit on your screen so you can see both. Then navigate the Reflect drive to the desired folder parent. In the other instance navigate to the target folder. Now drag from the one to the other.
Remember to Dis-Mount the Image file! In file explorer go to the drive letter assigned to the Image, right-click it and select Macrium Reflect -> Unmount Macrium Image.
I’m doing this from memory so watch your steps as things may be slightly different.

AskWoody_MVPDecember 23, 2024 at 8:21 am #2727915LH,
When assigning the drive letter did you see a checkbox that says allow access or some such?
Posting screen shots helps greatly in diagnosing problems. Of course, you’ll have to register to do that, but it’s free. -

GuestDecember 24, 2024 at 4:11 pm #2728367Wow nice job !
I search around and found people with the same problem and no answer. The answer was right in the window but so far on the bottom I never noticed it. Also because of the other folders being accessible, it hasn’t been a problem before.
For picture, I wonder link is allowed here :[Link removed]

AskWoody PlusAugust 30, 2024 at 7:14 am #2700377First post vanished, so … I’ll add that the Dbl-Clk RG speaks of is the – mrimg – file where it is Stored. Dbl-Clk of same in open app’s Existing Bkups does nothing for me. IF in Existing Bkups you’ll Rt Clk desired File Date – Browse Image – Chk the Partition you want and leave Temp Assigned Drive Letter as is or chg per drop-dn arrow. Before I Clk – OK – I Chk – Enable Access to Hidden Files at bottom – Any Changes to the Image file are TEMPORARY. Required Dis-Mount is as RG says and DETACH Image is also in the Restore Tab. I’m Paid Mac v8 but presume it’s the same for you.

There is no need to open Reflect! It is all done from File Explorer.
