As per Susan, I put off installing Windows 11 21H2. It was available in Windows Update. I made sure that GRC InControl had released control and then I ran the Windows 11 22H2 update on Oct 16. It began the install and then rolled back with:
“Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0xC1900101: Windows 11, version 22H2.”
Since then Windows update, GRC Incontrol, wumgr, all show “You’re up to date”. I’ve tried all the things I can find except dism which Susan says isn’t great, to no avail. Am I missing something simple?
I just now noticed that wumgr shows that it installed in March:
“Windows 11, version 22H2; ; MoUpdateOrchestrator; 3/14/2023; ; Succeeded (0x00000000)”
Settings|System|About still shows:
“Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 21H2
Installed on 2/11/2022
OS build 22000.2538
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22001.1000.0”
So, how do I get Windows Update to resend the invitation to update to 22H2? Just wait?
As for the failure, I plan to try removing all usb hardware before trying again. And I guess uninstalling Norton?
Thanks, Allen
