I want to download some material onto a DVD drive. Where do you open it at? How?

Also I have some useless apps that start at boot up hogging resources. How do I delete them from startup?

    Thankls a lot!

A couple of ways to open the DVD/CD drive.

      1. My Computer > Devices and Drives
      2. Right-click on the DVD/CD icon, and select Eject

There is usually a little eject button on the outside of the drive. Push on that and the drive will open.

      For unwanted startup programs.

      1. Right-click on the Task bar, and select Task Manager.
      2. Click on the Startup tab.
      3. Right-click on each program you don’t want to automatically start, and select Disable.

What start up programs and what resources are they hogging? Full details please.

      cheers, Paul

The ones that do not show up in the startup delete box such as: Clipboard,
I do not have a startup tab in Task Manager.
        Thanks

Clipboard being? Is it the Office clipboard manager?

          cheers, Paul

I do not have a startup tab in Task Manager.

Open a Command prompt and enter “msconfig” (no quotes).

      Click on the Startup tab.

There are also 3rd party tools that address unwanted startup programs…

      Revo Uninstaller (free)

      Autoruns (free)

The key to happiness is to use them carefully.
