How to keep current app window “on top”?

Hello,

Windows 10 has been automatically applying it’s wonderful updates.

One new thing started to happen – when I press ALT+TAB to switch between a window/app – no longer does that window/app come to the front.

I have to manually minimise the current window – to access the one I want (which stays hidden behind).

Please advise so that I can press ALT+TAB and choose a window/app and up it pops for my use.

I don’t seem to be able to recreate this problem on either my laptops or even my Dual Screen Desktop. I’ve tried it both while running the Win10 Start Menu and Classic Shell.

Can you elaborate on any changes you have made to your configuration? Do you have any keyboard programs running like SharpKeys or such?

Dear RG,

Your post gave me a brainwave!

At least we are getting closer to the issue. What I can see that it works OK for all applications EXCEPT for Chrome browser.

Other apps happily jump to the fore. But Chrome windows (sometimes 10+) stay in the background.

Does this help us formulate a solution?

I tried it with 4 chrome windows, access and excel and still had no problems. I’m not aware of any Chrome settings that would cause this but then I use Pale Moon as my main browser.
