    I placed this here since it applies to many versions of Windows, so I hope this is where it belongs.

    I use this and thought others might like to know how.  The pdf attachment is the instructions (with screen captures) of the making an icon invisible.

      Somebody will use this advice for a prank.

      Here is a shortcut that can bypass opening character map, so far it has worked since the IBM computer was introduced to the public if you have a number pad on your keyboard.

      The blank character is number 255, while depressing the Alt key type 2 5 5, you should see the cursor move slightly to the right (or maybe to the left if the language reading order is different.)
