Probably the only “feature” of W11 that still annoys me since I can’t get a workaround is the inability to pin a web page to a browser pinned in the taskbar.

Anyone know a technique to accomplish this? I’m comfortable with Registry editing…

    TIA.

If you are using Edge, click on the …, then hover on Apps, click on “Install this site as an App”.

Also, you can use settings (…), scroll down to More Tools, select “Pin to taskbar”.

        Joe,

Thanks. However, this doesn’t do what I want. I want to add a URL to the pinned list that shows when I right click on the browser icon that is in the taskbar. I don’t want it as an app or a pinned icon on the taskbar. I’m attaching a screenshot of what I mean.

Also, I don’t use Edge. My default is Chrome with Firefox as an alternate.

If you hover on a site in the recently used list a pin should appear on the right. Click on it.

This only works for the other non-browser apps. Chrome and FF jump lists don’t have any “Recent” list.

How about Taskbar Tweaker to get the results you are looking for? It works not only in my Win 10, but also in Win 11.

Change the ‘hovering’ default to ‘List’ and you will get what you are looking for, I think. The only caveat here is that the listed browser tabs are both pinned and unpinned ones. But, pinned tabs come first in a browser so the ones at the top of the list are the pinned ones.

Another feature that I select in the settings is “remove the extra gap between items” — squeezes the icons closer together on the Taskbar. And I have the switch on to “drag to re-order thumbnails” — by which you can re-order the list in the 1st image. It doesn’t reorder the tabs in the browser; it just re-orders the tabs in the list.

Sorry, I meant to say ‘hover’ and not ‘right-click’.

When I try to run it, I get a “not supported” notice for W11. I do get the settings menu as shown, but everything is grayed out.

Yes, you are right… I didn’t read carefully at a new taskbar in Windows 11, specifically this:

But, here is something else from Taskbar Tweaker in Win 11, specifically this:

A lot of members have used Taskbar Tweaker in Windows 10 and many members have moved over to Windows 11. I’ve posted at #2423832 to see if there are any Win 11 users who have followed Ramen’s suggestion above.

In Pale Moon in the list hover and a pin symbol will appear.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

Thanks, but I tried Pale moon and didn’t like it. I’m looking for a solution to Chrome and/or Firefox.

You will get the same for FF or chrome or anything that supports pinning for that matter. It is a windows thing.
