GuestSeptember 23, 2019 at 3:47 pm #1962652Hi Gene, first stop for a solution would be the company that sold you the expensive hardware, or the company that wrote the software to access the hardware if that is a different company. Hopefully this product is still being supported by the maker. They may have a solution that would keep their reputation strong.
For products that are past support, you will need to consider the various software products that can create isolation around the viewing process. From sandboxing (containers, jails, other names for same concept) to virtual machines that create isolated systems within the system you are using. Then continue using the last good version of Flash within this isolated space.
Or, hardware ages, new hardware introduces new capabilities. It may be time to install a new system. Not the answer you wanted, but you probably knew it wouldn’t last the lifetime of your home. VHS gave way to streaming, and CCTV over coaxial cable has given way to wireless technology. I hope the first solution, with help from the manufacturer, fixes this for you.
