Using HTML help workshop, I have designed an elaborate help system intended to be called from an Access (2003) application. In the HTML help workshop, all works fine both for the uncompiled .hhp and compiled .chm files, including links between .htm files, TOC , etc. (I’ve also done a header file with symbolic and numeric IDs … although it is unclear to me if this is only required for pop-ups or for all external calls ).

I am now trying to have the Access application call the help file but cannot find the proper way to do so…

I would like to write an ONCLICK event for a control that would open my help file ideally at a specified topic. These help files are not intended as “text pop-ups” or “context-sensitive help topics” accessible with . Rather, I designed my own series of that the user can click to access specific topics included in the help file.

Although not as important, I also wonder what is the exact syntax to use in the and properties as I cannot get them to work either(!).

The documentation in the HTML help workshop is great as I started without any knowledge at all and was able to build an integrated help system. However, I found the documentation to be a bit confusing and limited regarding calls from external programs (same in the Access documentation).
