Some but not all html messages cause Outlook 2007 to crash, even after running scanpst.exe (on both the active .pst file and the archive .pst file) and getting its approval. Recurring. Any ideas?

In Office 2007, HTML mail is rendered by Word rather than IE. It may be that the coding in the messages is somehow incompatible with Word 2007. (I use Office 2007 very lightly, so I haven’t seen any similar problems myself.)

Can you save one of the HTML messages in question and post it as an attachment?

Thanks, all for the responses. After repeatedly re-running scanpst.exe on both outlook.pst and archive.pst (despite getting “no error” messages at first), the problem was resolved.

Well, that is strange. If you can now view/open one of the messages that formerly was causing Outlook to crash then you had a corrupted database. Persistence paid off. grin
