• IE 6 Page Setup (6.0.26 128 bit encrypt)

I only recently upgraded to IE6 from 5.5 SP2 and have noticed that the page setup layout will not “stick” at landscape, which is what I normally desire. Each time I fire up IE now I have to change from portrait to landscape.

I have yet to see any KB articles which reference this little frustration.

    Any pointers?

Why do you print in landscape when MOST sites will print in the portrait mode. I can not remember but I think 5.01 did the same thing

I have never encountered the page settings not sticking when I changed it to landscape.

I print in landscape as some pages do NOT fit in portrait even when margins are changed to 0, etc.

And MS knowledgebase even says if pages won’t fit with margin changes print landscape.

A setting change such as page orientation used to be sticky so this is a new development. People printing HTML from Outlook 2000 would not have been scratching their heads due to landscape printing unless they had changed the default IE page setup to landscape. Outlook uses the IE html engine so Outlook inherits the landscape setting.

An uninstall of IE 6 and reverting to previous installation also returns the “sticky” page setup feature.

Shutting down IE 5.5 SP2 and PC reboots do not lose the landscape setting as does IE 6.
