I have a problem with clicking on links on web pages. Sometimes they work just right and sometimes I can click several times and nothing. Sometimes I can right click and click on open and it will open, sometimes not. Sometimes, if it isn’t a GIF, I can click on properties and copy and paste and it will work fine. However this is very time consuming and frustrating. I recently switched out harddrives and reloaded all programs from scratch. I have switched to a different mouse and none of this has changed the problem. I have one site that the links work better after 7 pm. Go figure. Anyway, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It may just be a problem with your Internet connection… You might want to try some of the tools at http://www.dslreports.com — especially their Line Quality Test.

I ran most of the tests and everything there seems to be OK. I did lower my security settings some, which seems to help some. I am not enamored about having to run low security to get sites to work. Thanks for the site. It has a lot of good info and I will use it more in the future.

Many or perhaps most sites use JavaScript (in the custom security dialog, “active scripting”); Medium security should be fine for those sites. (I personally customize my security settings, but I think Medium is reasonable for most people.)

That is about where my settings are now. There are still sites that I can’t get a link to work on. Maybe there is a lot of bad programming out there? Thanks for the ideas.
