IE6 maximize (win2000 current service)

For some reason my IE6 screen started opening in a window that is approx 2/3 full screen. I reviewed the posts here and saw to set window to max in the shortcut. If I click on the little ‘e’ shortcut it opens to full screen like it used to.
If I click on another shortcut – for example woody’s lounge or google etc. it opens in the 2/3 screen size.

Wondering if there are other locations I should check to make it open as full screen normally?

Any help appreciated. – I do not know what I did to cause this to start occurring.

Try this, when the second window opens in it’s smaller version, click on the box in the upper right corner to make the window open full screen. Now close the window and then open it again. It should open full screen. HTH

Nope didn’t work – still get 2/3 size screen

Okay, just to be very sure about this, “full screen” can mean three different things in IE: (1) maximized; (2) not maximized, but using the entire real estate of the screen (sometimes called “restored”); and (3) without borders or scroll bars. (You can tell which from the buttons; see the attached.)

Shortcuts typically will open in a window that is not maximized (number 2), and you can try to coerce IE into remembering your desired window size by stretching the window to fill the screen, and then closing that window with either a Shift+click on the X, or a Ctrl+click on the X (I forget, but this has been posted many times before…).

when I hit the box between the minus and the x (full screen – little window icon) the screen fills the area with a scroll bar on right hand side and the little screen icon between the _ and the x becomes a double screen box. Closing saving etc has no effect.

That’s correct: when you maximize, you are not changing the default window size. To change the default window size, you need to manually stretch it using the mouse and THEN try to save the setting. Note: almost all windows in Windows work this same way (Word, e-mail, etc.).
