IEAK to update existing install (IE 6.0)

I am trying to find a way to update IE 6.0 to the users I support with the new security updates that MS seems to be releasing on a bi-weekly basis right now. Originally IE 6.0 was installed using Novell ZenWorks SnAppshot. However, our version is very outdated, and this is no longer a reliable way to release updates.
I would like to start using the IEAK, but I am not sure I can do this since the browser was originally installed without using IEAK. Is this possible? If so, what do I need to do?

The features for setting users’ browsers to check your internal server for updates (instead of Windows Update), don’t sound all that great, but I haven’t studied them in detail.
