IfW and ATI into bcd-boot; to share with Windows 7 as boot choices…

On all three computers, I successfully got Macrium Reflect into bcd-boot, now Windows 7 and MR are the two choices awaiting my hi-lite and enter-key. I have no idea how to add Image for Windows and Acronis True Image to that bcd-boot lineup. I can’t figure out Acronis TI, and do not know where to even start with IfW.
I decided to “copy” the above paragraph into a new thread, because bcd-boot really is a new topic.

I’ve set my Windows to automatically come up into a black screen giving me 420 seconds to decide if I want to do an F8 or to choose one of two boot choices: Windows 7 [normal default] or Macrium Reflect Pro’s utility menu board.
I would like to add both Acronis True Image and Image for Windows into that lineup.

from experience, use easy-bcd to do a backup of what you have before experimenting :p

TBWinRE is a free utility from TeraByte that utilizes Image For Windows in creating a boot disc/USB.

In order to get it into your bcd store, you’ll need to have it in a folder on the root of your boot drive, or in a small partition on a drive accessible during boot.

I use a TBWinRE USB stick as my toolbox when I help my friends with their Windows problems. It will boot any PC that doesn’t have hardware damage that makes it unbootable, such as a fried motherboard or CPU. Using a USB stick allows including additional folders with useful software tools.

As for ATI, I haven’t a clue.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!

bbearren, I downloaded TeraByte’s TBWinPE[RE] builder zip file and extracted the contents into my TeraByte’s TBWinPEREbuilder folder. Should I create a C:TBWinPE folder and copy those files into that folder? After that, then what do I next?

Have you located your WinRE.wim file, run the scripts, etc? There’s more to it than just unzipping the download.

I’m in trouble, cannot find the WinRE.wim file, don’t have a clue as what and how of the scripts.
