Does anyone know of a tool or utility that will export the full set of tables from a Magic database (one version before the current) to access or anything else useful?
    Thanks

What in the world is a “Magic” database? One created by a Wizard? laugh I don’t know what export utilities are available in “Magic” but in all likelihood you will have to export the Magic tables to a generic format like CSV or fixed width text, then import into Access or other program like Excel. If “Magic” is ODBC compliant then you can create ODBC DSN for the Magic tables using Windows ODBC Data Source Adminstrator and then import into Access via ODBC.

magic is a database program developed in Israel see http://www.magic.co.il
It is actually quite robust and fast for developing in.

It doesn’t matter what it is. Unless it is ODBC compliant or uses a known file format like dBase or is capable of export data to Access, you’re going to have to follow Mark’s suggestion.

Taking a quick look at web site (out of curiosity) there are some 3rd party tools for Magic listed including something called mgExport. According to site: “mgExport is designed for exporting data tables to 10 formats (incl. HTML, Microsoft Word & Excel). It can export data to screen or file even if target application is not installed. It displays progress and it is very fast.” Don’t know if it supports export to Access but you can check it out, supposedly it’s freeware.
