I would like to import several MYOB tables into a small reporting Database. It seems that i need a specific VBA connection/ Import string to achieve this as MYOB seems to have its own specific ODBC interface. I have installed MYOB_ODBC drivers and can connect / import manually but can’t achieve this through either a macro or module at this point. Any thoughts / ideas????

What is MYOB? Do the table names change from time to time? If not, you could link to them manually then run delete, append, update queries (whatever fits your needs) via code and you should be all set. Food for thought anyway.

It’s an Access-based business accounting program. If it’s like most accounting packages, the back end is secured.

Based on Charlotte’s response, I imagine the table names are static and you may or may not be able to modify the table data (depending on your ODBC connection). I’ve linked to QuickBooks tables using ODBC and keep the links present. I can then update resident tables using action queries and I can also write to the QB tables directly. If you use the static linked table to drive resident tables, that would be your best bet.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
