I have Photoshop CS5 and want to create a single file which includes images from two different JPEG files placed next to each other. It just is not clear to me how to go about pasting these two images into one Photoshop file. Can any of you point me in the right direction?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody LoungerFebruary 5, 2014 at 3:29 pm #1437231I tried the following.
Open CS6 on my win7 desktop.
I operated on 2 images of 650×500 pixels eachIn CS6;
file >> new (untitled window opens)
set pixel dimensions for 1300×500file >> open >> scroll to file 1>> select
file >> open >> scroll to file 2>> selectAt this poiint you should now have 3 tabs inside CS6. The first tab is a blank image. The second tab is file 1. The third tab is file 2.
Click tab 2. Select all, then CTRL-C. Click tab 1, then CTRL-V. File 2 should now be on the Blank image. Use the move control to position.
Click tab 3, then select all, and then CTRL-C. Click tab 1 again and then CTRL-V. File 2 should now be on the blank image beside file 1. The move control will allow moving to align.
Give it a try. let me know if it works.
best wishes,
Michael -

AskWoody PlusFebruary 5, 2014 at 3:33 pm #1437232I can give you generic steps but I use a different SW program.
1. In first image increase the pallet or border size to either twice the height or twice the width all on one edge.
2. Copy the second image
3. Paste the second image onto the first as a layer
4. position the second as desired
5. merge the layers
6. crop as needed
7. Save As so you do not overwrite the original

AskWoody LoungerFebruary 6, 2014 at 7:35 am #1437333You are welcome. Glad it worked for you. Power and intuitiveness seem to be at opposite ends of a see-saw in most programs. I left out many of the smaller details in hopes you could get them. One you have used that technique you will probably notice that clicking on the layer for each file allows fine movement of each file separately from each other. Real fine grain positioning comes from depressing the CTRL key while using the move tool.
Best wishes.
Michael
