Does anybody know if there is a way to import a web site into a FP web without importing images? Sometimes I make changes on the server and want to import the pages back into FP but it tries to import all images as well.
Thanks.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

Will this software here do what you want?
You can select exactly which files you want to move.
I’m a bit confused as to which way you are moving the files – if you want to stop files being uploaded to your web you can stop them by:
Right_click the file when viewed in the Folder List
Click the ‘Workgroup’ tab
Select ‘Exclude this file when publishing..’
Well I’m talking about the FP import wizard. Scenario is:
1) have FP web on my PC and published to server
2) may make some html edits directly on server
3) want to get my PC copy up to date so use import
wizard to import from Internet
The problem is FP will try to pull the entire web
including images when all I really want is the html.
There’s an “import only text and images” check-box
but what I really want is to import only text.
The ftp tool looks useful but I was wondering if FP has
something built-in that I’m missing.
Thanks.
Ok, now I’ve got the scenario. Try this:
You are going to Open your server copy of the web and publish to your PC. But you want to prevent the pictures from publishing. So…
1. Before publishing, switch to the reports view.
2. When in the Reports view, choose View, Reports, Publish Status (don’t feel bad that you didn’t find it right away!).
3. Sort your files by type, so that your picture files are grouped together.
4. Select your picture files and right-click on the selection. Choose, Properties, Workgroup.
5. At the bottom of the dialogue note the checkbox for “Exclude this file when publishing the rest of the web.” (Picture attached). Check the box, click OK.
Do you need to go into the Publish status view to do this? No, but it is a useful view when you are trying to get a look at what files you are publishing.
If you’re inclined to go outside FrontPage, this looks interesting: http://208.45.224.186/masq/tools/CompareDirsV6.htm I have not played with it.
